The 24 Hour Drawathon

August 2, 2010

This interactive drawing event raised over £1,500 for a children’s home in Romania where Joe and I spent time in 2007 and 2008. We drew a total of 77 drawings all suggested by the people who donated money to our cause.

Here are just a few of my favourites;

An accordion for Julie, a beautiful bird for Philippa…….

A hamster for Emma, someone skipping through a field with gay abandon for Rachael…..

A bee for Jo and Liz, a cat for Julia and Dan…….

A relaxed badger for Andy, 50 dragons for Jim (of course).

The Cheese Drawings

July 27, 2009

The Cheese Drawings were shown as a site specific installation as part of a cheese tasting evening with KaseSwiss, Borenkaas and Topolski of Borough Market, October 2008. Breeze The drawings were inspired by the long and intricate process of cheesemaking and emotional responses to taste. This was my first self initiated illustration project, and whilst working on the drawings I learnt a great deal about my own style.  Now, a year on – I am less surprised by what I draw, but I still feel a twinge of the nerves I felt a year ago when I show these drawings, probably because they were the first expressions of  autonomous creativity I had shown to the world in years. hillsidespillwho knewthe burdencheese drawings on float
